Tasks and Responsibilities:
• Develop annual sales budget and quarterly forecasts for respective product lines and assign contribution targets to the marketing units for execution of short- and long-range (up to ten years) strategic goals; • Ability to analyze information requirements from BMS AG, BMS LLC , Accounting, Purchasing, Logistics , Customer Service and the production managers within Manufacturing to effectively plan the final production requirements using prescribed SAP tools; • Devise strategic plans for assigned product lines which provide for optimum utilization of existing assets and facilities, expansion and investment programs to support profitable business growth, and maximum profitability consistent with Business Unit objectives; • Major tasks include netting inventory and demand, rough cut capacity planning for all product classes (MTO and MTF), and production planning for MTF, participation in global balancing, monitoring manufacturing schedule compliance, and requesting toll production support as necessary; • Develop List, Guide, and Limit pricing for assigned product lines based on market dynamics and thorough consideration of manufacturing economics, including raw material, conversion, container and logistic costs. Communicate pricing to appropriate marketing units for implementation; • Must be able to balance a high focus on the customer and the limitations of the BMS LLC supply chain capabilities by monitoring Key Performance Indicators such as FFCOFR, BCOC, Premium Freight, NTO, etc and making tactical decisions to optimize service and cost; • Maximize product line profitability by optimizing Margin I, Margin II, and EBIT. This is accomplished through evaluation of customer/product mix, portfolio management (product rationalization), strategic raw material sourcing, asset utilization and overhead cost analysis; • Implement best business practices for continued improvement and success of the business with specific emphasis on Supply Chain and use of SAP tools; • Incumbent must be able to deal with and solve complex and changing demand/supply scenarios using the SAP tools provided; • Minimize working capital through effective inventory management including the establishment of min/max levels, reduction of DSMI, manage quality , product specifications and complaints; • Approve, establish, and manage toll manufacturing agreements in order to balance supply/demand while maximizing CFROI. Maintain a detailed working knowledge of the specific BU product line’s manufacturing and logistics capabilities and limitations; • The incumbent should be able to independently trouble shoot and resolve issues either by themselves or by involving others as necessary; • Lead and manage New Product Introduction process to accomplish successful product commercialization ensuring that all internal, customer, and regulatory requirements are met; • Lead and manage the allocation process in a case of product shortages. The incumbent should achieve optimal asset utilization.
The candidate is required to possess the following:
• BA/BS in Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, Supply Chain or a relevant discipline with 8+ years’ of experience in sales, marketing, production, product management or a relevant field or a MA/MS/MBA with 6+ years’ experience; • Moderately Experienced SAP user with the ability to troubleshoot system problems; • Interpersonal and negotiating skills along with the ability to deal with conflicts; • Consistently delivers highly detailed work products and leads significant projects impacting supply chain; • Ability to share focus between BMS and customers while maintaining a constant customer focus; • Intermediate Microsoft Office skills, especially with Excel; • Analytical skills and ability to contribute to planning based on analysis.
