Role Description
Responsible for the packaging operations, leading the team leaders and staff to ensure that all tasks are conducted in accordance with applicable guidelines and policies, and in conformance with appropriate standards, such as FDA's current Good Manufacturing Practices (cGMPs). Responsible for the financial performance of the department, managing spending and inventories to align with fluctuations in product demand. Works with the Inspection operations team to define and implement strategy to achieve results as measured by established metrics, and to continuously improve operational performance. Responsible for developing and executing plans desired to consistently achieve unit deliverables related to all of the mission elements. Manages all aspects of direct report development including Career Development, Performance Management, Training, Business unit Goals and Objectives, as well as supporting and demonstrating all of the Pfizer Leader Behaviors. The successful candidate will be able to balance the immediacy of daily operations with the longer term goals and vision of the Packaging organization through the development of an organizational culture that values colleague involvement while establishing ownership and accountability. Works as an integral member of the leadership team, effectively interfacing with peers to drive competitiveness through established initiatives.

Responsibilities
Functional/Technical Knowledge:
Applies advanced in-depth technical and industry-specific principles, theories, and concepts. Contributes to new principles and concepts. Provides deep, detailed knowledge over multiple processes, within function or business unit.

Conducts briefings and technical meetings for internal and external representatives. Job focus is operational and tactical. Generally accomplishes results through subordinate supervisors, or Staff specialist colleagues. Subject to approval, modifies organizational responsibilities of assigned units. Develops and administers budgets, schedules and performance standards. Interacts with key decision makers to understand business drivers outside of immediate area.

Time Span of Work:
Projects and tasks covering mid-term (3 to 6 months) to longer term (6 to 12 months) deliverables; Work measured at major milestones

Working with Union:
Experience in managing a union work environment.

Qualifications
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
Bachelor’s degree plus minimum of 14 years of experience or Master’s degree plus 12 years of experience required. Minimum 5 years prior supervisory or management experience required. Aseptic Manufacturing, pharmaceutical formulation development and project management experience highly desirable. Demonstrated skills in leading; operational planning; integrating, managing and/or coordinating similar/related teams, units, work processes and/or functions. Comprehensive demonstrated skills in communicating (oral and written) effectively with diverse individuals/groups; facilitating trust, understanding, growth, empowering and enabling employee, business and customer relationships. Proven track record of delivering results consistently while being a role model for the Pfizer Leader Behaviors

PHYSICAL POSITION REQUIREMENTS
Lifting up to 25 lbs., sitting, standing, walking, climbing stairs, ability to travel, drive, weekend work in manufacturing and warehouse environment.
