Position Description

Covanta operates and/or has ownership positions in 45 energy-from-waste facilities, primarily located in North America, and 20 additional energy generation facilities, including other renewable energy production facilities in North America. We also operate other waste management businesses complementary to our core EfW business. Covanta EfW facilities produce electricity for approximately one million homes in communities across North America.

Based at our Conshohocken, PA facility, we seek a dedicated individual who will handle routine and emergency maintenance of the facility's instrumentation, electrical, control and CEM systems, as well as, perform maintenance work related to the boilers and its associated electrical and control equipment.

Position Requirements
Must have HS Diploma/GED and at least 5 years of experience as a Maintenance Instrumentation / Electrician in a power plant or a similar field. Formal technical training is preferred.

Strong working knowledge of 120V to 13.8kV, AC switchgear coupled with the ability to work from P&ID's, schematics and vendor manuals for electrical equipment installation or troubleshooting work. Maintains accurate records and logs as required of calibration checks. A working knowledge of Allen Bradley PLCs, Continuous Emissions Monitors, and Distributed Control Systems is preffered.

Able to work from high elevations, in close quarters, work while kneeling, squatting, sitting, climbing, and standing.

Must be proficient in the use of all Microsoft Office software modules, including Word, Excel, and others

Willing to work overtime, weekends, holidays, and respond to call outs as needed to fulfill business objectives and the ability to work abnormal work shifts to meet plant conditions. Position requires on-call rotation.

Knowledge and understanding of the National Electric Code

Must be able to pass background check, drug screen, and physical

Interpersonal communication skills are required in order to interface with all affected teams.
