Your Tasks and Responsibilites
The purpose of this entry level engineering position is to support senior engineering members pertaining to the development of new plastic sterile disposable devices used in radiology and cardiovascular medical procedures. This role participates in the design and development of new products and supports life cycle engineering of existing medical devices. The individual will work as a member of a cross functional team that includes design, manufacturing, quality, regulatory, and program management. The position is based-out of the Indianola, PA facility.

Primary Responsibilities:
•Support and/or lead the design, development, and implementation of new sterile disposable products utilized in radiology and cardiovascular medical procedures.
•Use CAE tools (CAD, FEA, Moldflow, CFD) to develop and analyze product designs.
•Conduct or direct testing in a R&D lab environment to verify concept designs.
•Research and develop new technologies associated with sterile medical disposable products.
•Provide knowledge of plastics material properties and manufacturing including: material selection, injection molding process, extrusion process, thermoforming process, bonding and assembly.
•Establish detailed design requirements / design input within a cross-functional team environment.
•Support the creation and formal review of product drawings / output within a cross-functional team environment.
•Support verification and validation of production intent product.
•Apply acquired knowledge of the product and clinical applications as required throughout the organization.
•Create various design history file documentation throughout the development process including technical assessments, test protocols / reports, and various engineering documentation.

Who You Are
•Bachelor’s Degree in mechanical and/or plastic engineering.
•Strong understanding of material properties and the general applications of polymers and plastics resins.
•0 - 3 years of industry experience directly pertaining to mechanical / plastic engineering roles.
•Working knowledge of plastics processing including injection molding, extrusion, and thermoforming.
•Strong competency in the use of lab equipment including Instron, melt flow tester, and data logging devices.
•Proven awareness of other technical disciplines.
•Working knowledge and proven skills of PC computer operating system including Microsoft office applications (Outlook, Word, Excel and PowerPoint).
•Strong competency in alignment with Bayer LIFE values. (Leadership, Integrity, Flexibility, Efficiency)
•Must possess strong and proven oral and written communication skills.
