What you’ll do
- Advocate and be the voice of our customer in our product development process
- Utilize Design Thinking, Lean and Agile methodologies to deliver elegant and delightful customer experiences for national businesses that serve tens of millions of customers:
- Collaborate on visual direction and strategy for prototyping and pilot efforts
- Translate business requirements into concepts and prototypes to be used in testing
- Create interaction models, user task flows, screen designs, and UI details that promote ease of use and optimize task flows
- Partner with Product to express UX strategy
- Develop and maintain artifacts that express humanity, simplicity and ingenuity
- Mentor and grow a team of talented designers
- Visualize complex sets of data in ways that are easy to comprehend (think quantified self for finance)
- Lead empathy research, persona development, and a wide variety of usability studies
Basic Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree or military experience
- 5 years experience in digital art direction, visual design, or user experience

Preferred Qualifications:
- Master’s degree in design or human computer interaction
- 8-10 years experience in digital art direction, design, development, usability and marketing
- 3 years experience with standard digital tools (e.g., Adobe Creative Suite, Omnigraffle, Balsamiq, HTML5, CSS3, JavaScript)
- 3 years experience in client management, including relationship building with internal and external partners
- 5 years experience directly managing creative teams (user experience architects, designers, copywriters, front-end developers, etc.) as well as cross-functional work groups
- 5 years experience presenting concepts to peers, management, and executive stakeholders and influencing design, product and business direction
