Covanta is looking for a Senior HRMS Analyst to be based at its Corporate office in Morristown, NJ.

The Senior HRMS Analyst will be a member of the HRMS team within the Human Resources department. Covanta's HRMS team is tasked with supporting Covanta’s mission in managing and growing the business by building and motivating a quality workforce. The Sr. HRMS Analyst’s primary responsibility will be to technically administer Covanta’s HCM and Payroll systems powered by Workday. This includes managing system requirements, design, development, integration, quality assurance, implementation and maintenance. The HRMS team works closely with business leads in the HR, Benefits, Compensation, Payroll and Finance departments, in addition to external vendors, to deliver solutions that support business requirements. The HRMS team provides services in the technology strategy, project implementation, solution selection and design, end user support, issue troubleshooting and resolution, and system access and application management.

As a member of the HRMS team the Sr. HRMS Analyst will work directly with the IT Project Management Office, Internal Audit, and Human Resource stakeholders closely to identify requirements, develop Statement of Work and ensure the successful and timely delivery of projects and system enhancements. Covanta successfully implemented Workday’s core HCM system in July of 2013 and it currently planning future rollouts including Time Tracking, Recruiting and Performance Management.

Position Summary:
This newly created role will participate in all HR technology delivery projects. The Senior HRMS Analyst will collaborate closely with business leads to understand business goals and how technology solutions can help achieve them. The Senior HRMS Analyst will provide solution selection, project delivery, supplier management, application administration, and user support. Additionally this position will independently follow up to document and research technical issues and coordinates issue resolution with technical and business resources. The Senior HRMS Analyst will also work with team members to ensure SDLC methodology is followed and Internal Audit requirements are satisfied.

• Facilitate business collaboration in problem definition, business case development, solution selection, requirements gathering and deployment
• Participate in the management of the Workday HCM system, including diagnosing, troubleshooting, and initiating corrective actions; develop solutions to system technical issues and systems process issues.
• Understand and adhere to SDLC methodology and Internal Audit requirements including documentation of design, configuration, testing and approvals
Position Requirements
• Bachelor Degree in Computer Science or related technical discipline, or the equivalent combination of education, training and experience that provides the required.
• A minimum of 5+ years progressively responsible experience in application administration, development, support and HR solution management.
• Experience with Workday, PeopleSoft or SAP HCM applications strongly preferred.
• Requires extensive knowledge in the implementation, custom reporting, and production problem resolution for HRIS/HRMS applications.
• Experience working effectively with business, IT staff and internal audit.
• Proven experience in business process analysis, eliciting and elaborating business requirements, and drafting system design specifications; strong follow-through, ability to drive to closure and resolution of complex system issues.
• Excellent problem identification, analysis and solving skills.
• Experience managing / interacting with Vendors or third parties.
• Demonstrated ability to absorb, analyze, and understand new information, technologies and practices quickly.
• Understanding of project management and SDLC methodology.
• Exceptional communication and customer facing skills, able to interact effectively with diverse groups of stakeholders, both technical and business users.
• Proven ability to manage multiple activities of varying complexity while prioritizing and focusing on critical tasks and issues.
• Active listener, customer focused, relationship builder, team player.
