Position Description
Control Room Operator Base Wage: 28.73 /hr.

Qualifications:

Good Health. Vision and depth perception testing may be required. New hires will be required to take a physical and drug test.

Licensed to drive on public highways in the State of Oregon. Must possess a high school education or equivalent and have or be able to obtain the ASME QRO provisional certification at the first available test date.

Reports to the Operations Foreman. Performs all boiler and turbine/generator plant operational tasks under the supervision of the Chief Engineer and direction of the Operations Forman. Continually monitors plant operation and performance; takes readings and logs them. The duties of the Shift Engineer include but are not limited to the safe and efficient operation of all plant equipment in accordance with the established plant operation procedures. This person is responsible for logging operating activities and recording data, reporting equipment malfunctions or trends which indicate possible trouble, and performing actions required to correct abnormal operating conditions or emergency situations. Responsible for the water treatment boiler system during their shift; tests or supervises the testing of boiler water (and domestic water) and maintains water treatment log, and adjusts water treatment on shift as required. Responsible for the maintenance of a safe, neat and clean working area during shift. In performing these duties, the Control room operator will coordinate the activities of other operators as required and will be capable of conducting all necessary operating actions without direct supervision. This person will possess knowledge of and experience as an Operations Foreman in the operation of a steam/electric power generation plant; have a performance record in such work. Must be available for call in and O.T. as needed.
