Position Summary:
The Operational Excellence Project Specialist at Penske is primarily responsible to execute technical / cross functional assignments within strategic initiatives throughout the organization. Under the direction of the Operational Excellence Manager, this role consistently interfaces with Senior Management sponsorship and is expected to provide effective communication and engagement during the life cycle of each initiative. Project Specialists will play contributing and leading roles for specific deliverables identified, and will provide technical support, training, and mentoring as necessary.

Major Responsibilities:
Skillset / Tool Application: Execute the assigned skillset / tool effectively (Operational Excellence / Lean Six Sigma) and provide timely communication and follow-up as required
Project Execution: Provide key contributions to Operational Excellence / Lean Six Sigma initiatives as technical resource, task / activity leader, or other related team member role
Technical Training / Mentoring: Assist with training and mentoring for specific Operational Excellence / Lean Six Sigma skillset(s) / tool(s)
Engage Leadership: Effectively engage with leadership by providing timely updates, analysis, and communications. Support and encourage Operational Excellence concepts.
Deliverables and Impact: Maintain timely assessments and status reviews of deliverables and impact for all activities within scope of work. Assist Operational Excellence Manager with recovery activities to achieve deliverables and maximize impact.
Other projects and tasks as assigned by the manager


-Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering / Sciences or some Quality Engineering experience is required
-Experience with large scale enterprise improvement initiatives
-Prior Process driven roles in Manufacturing / Industrial Services / Supply Chain is preferred
-Proficiency in Continuous Improvement disciplines: Lean / Kaizen / Six Sigma
-Proficiency of Industrial Engineering and Quality Engineering concepts is preferred
-Proficient with Statistical analysis / Data manipulation
-Some presentation and facilitation experience is preferred
-Formal Training and Consulting capabilities is preferred
-Any prior Quality / Lean Six Sigma certifications are preferred.
-Advanced Proficiency with Microsoft Excel and Access is preferred
-Proficiency in the use of Microsoft Outlook, Word, and PowerPoint required
-Prior experience with Microsoft Project and Mini-Tab preferred
-Willingness for travel, including overnight, required. Travel estimated to be 25-50%
-Willingness to travel as necessary, work the required schedule, work at the specific location required, complete Penske employment application, submit to a background investigation (to include past employment, education, and criminal history) and drug screening are required
